Kindergarten and First GradeWixie, Microsoft Paint, Typing Agent and Mouse Handling Skills Galore!
Kindergarten and First Grade complete small projects throughout the year using Microsoft Paint and KidPix 3D. Kindergarten focuses on beginning computer skills such as naming computer parts and practicing using the mouse efficiently. They start learning the letters of the keyboard towards the end of the year. They practice typing on Typing Agent for the first time and start recognizing where their hands are placed on a keyboard. First grade reinforces mouse handling and typing skills. They continue using Kid Pix and will transfer over to Google Docs to create cards, practice typing, and make other documents. Students choose any state (except New York) to research. They will make a brochure about the state as well as a signature food from their state. Students will present their brochure and share their signature foods with the class (food allergies are considered when students look at recipes!) |
Second GradeSecond grade continues to use Google Docs and is introduced to Google Slides.
Bird Project
Students pick a bird that they are interested in to research. They work through the research process. In computer class, students take their research and create a PowerPoint using Google Slides. Students learn how to edit and create slides, transitions, and animations. Students create a beautiful drawing and present at Amagansett School's Wake-Up Amagansett. Zoo Project
Students pick an animal they are interested in to research. They work through the research process. In computer class, students take their research and create a PowerPoint using Google Slides, Students learn how to edit and create slides, transitions, and animations.Students will create a diorama. Second grade's "Animal Park" will launch in the Amagansett School library and parents, students, teachers, and administrators will see the beautiful slideshow and diorama they have completed. Sixth grade students learn more about Internet Safety, blogging, and how to create a website.
Sixth GradeWebsite Building Project using Weebly
Sixth grade students choose any Sixth grade Science or Social Studies topic. They will follow the research process and create a website based on their research. |
Third GradeThird grade students continue to use more web-based programs such as Nearpod, Glogster, and Edu Buncee. They will also recognize the difference between Email and Snail Mail.
Country Project
Students research a country of their choice and create a project using EDU Buncee. |
